Join us for the “Scarecrow Making” at rice paddies in Maruyama Senmaida - Fairfield by Marriott Mie Kumano Kodo Mihama

On Saturday July 11th, we are inviting guests staying at Fairfield by Marriott Mie Kumano Kodo Mihama to participate in the “Scarecrow Making” for rice cultivation at Maruyama Senmaida, organized by Kumanoshi Furusato Shinkou Kousya.

Maruyama Senmaida is one of the largest and most beautiful rice terraces in Japan and has been selected as one of the "100 best rice terraces in Japan. In July, the rice plants in the terraced fields begin to grow little by little. Vivid green colors cover the entire expanse of the terraced fields, creating a refreshing summer landscape.

Fairfield by Marriott Michi-no-Eki Project has been participating in the ownership program of Maruyama Senmaida since 2024, and the hotel staff have been actively involved in activities such as maintaining the rice paddy ridges and planting rice. At the event, we will work together to create a single scarecrow under the guidance of local community members.
