In collaboration with Konan Women's University, discover Awaji Island at the “Michiru Tabi Marche”! Fairfield by Marriott Hyogo Awaji Fukura

From Friday, September 11, 2026, through Sunday, September 13, 2026, we will host a three-day collaborative event with the Faculty of Letters, Department of Japanese Language and Culture at Konan Women’s University at the Fairfield by Marriott Hyogo Awaji Fukura. The event is titled “Discover Awaji Island: Michiru Tabi Marche—Presented by Konan Women’s University and the Local Community.”

The Wada Seminar in the Konan Women’s University is carrying out the “Awaji Island, People, and Things” project, which aims to promote multicultural coexistence through the dissemination of “Easy Japanese” and to rediscover and showcase the charm of Awaji Island’s culture and local resources. This event has been organized as an initiative for students to interact with local businesses and others to showcase the appeal of Awaji Island.

The event will be held in the lobby lounge of the Fairfield by Marriott Hyogo Awaji Fukura, where visitors can purchase products unique to Awaji Island, such as onion soup and Somen noodles. Samples of some products will also be available for tasting. In addition, as interactive activities for visitors, we will host the “Guess the Onion Gram Challenge,” where participants can win onions, as well as a “Calendula Balm Making” workshop.
