Here are some destinations around hotels in Kyushu area which are perfect for enjoying Spring.

Cherry blossom in Nagare River

Nagare River, Ukihamachi, Ukiha, Fukuoka

The cherry trees line a 2-kilometer stretch along the Nagare River. The narrow promenade along the rows of cherry trees is densely packed with trees, making it look like a tunnel of cherry blossoms.

The Gothic-style building across the river from Ureshino Onsen Park is Ureshino Onsen Public Bathhouse “Siebold's Hot Spring”. When photographed with cherry blossoms, it creates a retro atmosphere, and when the cherry blossoms begin to fall, a carpet of cherry blossoms spreads over the park.

 

Nandoryo’s Century Cherry Blossom

2200 Ko Yoshida Ureshinomachi, Ureshino, Saga

A lone cherry tree blooming in the middle of a mountain with tea plantations. The tree height is 13 meters and 100 years old. The cherry tree has been carefully protected by the local people for a long time, and its existence was unknown until a few years ago. Contrasting beautifully with the tea plantations, these cherry blossoms are a picturesque sight.

 

Mifuneyama Rakuen Flower Festival

This festival is the largest night cherry blossom event in Kyushu with about 2,000 trees of cherry blossoms. The night view mirroring water lanterns and the contrast between cherry blossoms low and manly rock face are the must-see spot.

Kujuhana Park

Almost 500 kinds of flowers and 5 million flowers are grown in the huge area of Aso National Park on the 850-meter altitude. Eventually, tulips, nemophila, and other flowers bloom and become a colorful patchwork view.

 

Aso Lantern Festival

The Aso Lantern Festival is a celebration designed to preserve the lessons and memories of Kumamoto Earthquake that occurred in April 2016. Approximately 1,800 lanterns flicker in the night sky and create a fantastic and memorable festival.

All fruits in this farm are grown either without pesticides or with less pesticides. Until the end of May, there are strawberries without pesticides. Also, in the shop, they sell handmade apple pies or strawberry flavored ice cream.

Cherry Blossom in Senganen

The view of Sakurajima, Kinko Bay, and approximately 150 cherry trees from the Shimadzu family's villa is a must-see. The best time to view the cherry blossoms is usually from early February to early April. Various events are also held during the festival.

 

Fireworks with Sakurajima 2026

This is a fireworks display where you can enjoy artistic fireworks with Sakurajima in the background. The “Artistic Fireworks” is composed of a combination of artistic balls created by pyrotechnicians, which are carefully programmed to synchronize with the rhythm and tune of the music. 

 

Kagoshima Spring Festival Dai-Hanya

4-4 Honkoshinmachi, Kagoshima, Kagoshima

Date: Apr 25 and 26, 2026 Hours: 10:00~

This festival is held in many spots in Kagoshima City to pray all prosperity with a call “Hanya!” Yosakoi dancers coming from all over Japan will show their original and characteristic performance throughout the event.
