Join us for the ridge coating at rice paddies in Maruyama Senmaida - Fairfield by Marriott Mie Kumano Kodo Mihama

On April 11th, we are inviting guests staying at Fairfield by Marriott Mie Kumano Kodo Mihama to participate in the “Ridge coating Experience” for rice cultivation at Maruyama Senmaida, organized by Kumanoshi Furusato Shinkou Kousya.

Maruyama Senmaida is one of the largest and most beautiful rice terraces in Japan, and has been selected as one of the "100 best rice terraces in Japan. Fairfield by Marriott Michi-no-Eki Project has been participating in the ownership program of Maruyama Senmaida since 2024, and the hotel staff has been engaged in rice planting and harvesting.

This ridge-coating experience takes place before the rice paddies are flooded, offering a rare opportunity to appreciate the beauty of the terraced fields and stone walls up close. Why not engage in traditional rice farming techniques under the direct guidance of local farmers?

Schedule:  

Please go to Maruyama Senmaida by yourself from the hotel. (It takes about 30 minutes by car)

9:30 Gather at Maruyama Senmaida  

11:00 Lunch (Bento Box) 

11:30 End of the event

(Boots available for rental, but please bring your boots if you can, as there are a limited number available)
