Sake Tasting and Plum Wine Making Workshop at Fairfield by Marriott Wakayama Kumano Kodo Susami
On Sunday, August 9, Fairfield by Marriott Wakayama Kumano Kodo Susami will host a sake tasting and umeshu-making workshop in collaboration with Nakano BC Co., Ltd. for guests staying at the hotel.
Wakayama Prefecture has long been Japan's leading producer and harvester of plums, and at this event, you can enjoy the charm of these plums through three experiences: “tasting,” “learning,” and “taking home.” Nakano BC Co., Ltd. uses only Nanko plums—known as the highest-grade variety—to brew plum wine that harmoniously blends beautiful color, a rich aroma, and a deep, complex flavor.
For the tasting, we’ll have several types of drinks available, including “Kishu Umeshu and Tropical Mango”—an authentic plum wine made with Nanko plums blended with tropical fruits—and “Maki -KOZUE-” a craft gin made with botanicals from Wakayama Prefecture. For those who don’t drink alcohol, we’ll also have plum syrup that can be mixed with soda or water. Additionally, as a special event this time, an exclusive plum wine making workshop using Nanko plums will be held for a maximum of eight participants.
Why not take this opportunity to base yourself at the hotel and set out on a trip to fully enjoy the unique charm of Wakayama’s plums?
