Fairfield by Marriott Kagoshima Tarumizu Sakurajima is holding amberjack feeding experience and a tour of the Fishery Cooperative! 

On Saturday, May 23, in collaboration with the Tarumizu City Fishery Cooperative, we are holding feeding experiences for amberjack and tours of the fishery cooperative for guests staying at the Fairfield by Marriott Kagoshima Sakurajima.

Tarumizu City in Kagoshima Prefecture is one of the world’s largest amberjack farming areas. Kinko Bay offers ideal natural conditions for amberjack farming in terms of water quality, temperature, and tidal currents. Combined with advanced farming techniques, this has resulted in the premium brand amberjack, “Umi no Okan.”

We have prepared three programs for this event. In the first program, “Amberjack Feeding Experience,” you will board a fishing boat and experience feeding the fish. In the second program, “Tour of the Fishery Cooperative Facilities,” you will get a close-up look at the feed fish used to feed the amberjack in the refrigerated storage facility at the Tarumi City Fishery Cooperative. In the third program, “Amberjack Filleting Experience & Tasting,” under the direction of experts, you’ll fillet amberjack into three pieces and prepare it as sashimi, then enjoy a special moment savoring it while it’s still fresh.
