An unforgettable experience! “Nighttime Adventure: Insect Collecting Activity” at Fairfield by Marriott Kyoto Minamiyamashiro

Join us on the "Insect Collecting Activity" with an insect hunter, Mr. Yama-chan, available for the guests staying at Fairfield by Marriott Kyoto Minamiyamashiro. The event is scheduled to be held from Tuesday, July 22 to Sunday, July 27. In this activity, you will explore the surrounding mountains at night, guided by Mr. Yama-chan, who will share the tips how to collect beetles and stag beetles at the best spots. Make the most of your summer and create unforgettable memories with your children.

・Date / Time：Tuesday, July 22, 2025 to Sunday, July 27, 2025 

・Time：18:30～21:30  

・In the event of rain：the activity will be held indoors.  

*A decision on whether to hold the event will be made at 1:00 p.m. on the day of the event, depending on the weather conditions. 

・Meeting place：the restaurant “Tsuchi-no-Ubu” at Michi-no-Eki Ocha no Kyoto Minamiyamashiro Village 

・Price：3,000 yen per person　*Please make a payment at the hotel when checking in  

・Capacity：3 groups (around 4 people per group)  

*Applicable to children of 12 years old and under and their parents staying at Fairfield by Marriott Kyoto Minamiyamashiro on the day of the event.  

 

・Schedule： 

18:30 Meet at the restaurant “Tsuchi-no-Ubu” at Michi-no-Eki Ocha no Kyoto Minamiyamashiro Village for orientation and insect workshop 

19:30 Depart from hotel and start insect collection 

21:30 Arrive at hotel 

  

・Attire and Footwear    

Long sleeve shirt, Long pants, Cap or Hat    

*Please come in comfortable clothes. We recommend that you wear boots.  

・Things to bring  

Insect basket (in which soil can be put), insect net, bait, insect repellent spray, flashlight (preferably on your head), work gloves, towel and drink
