Experience planting seedlings, sowing seeds, and making pizza—an event for parents and children to enjoy together—at Fairfield by Marriott Hyogo Tajima Yabu

On Sunday, May 24, we will host a collaborative event with “wataya farm,” an organic farm in Yabu City, Hyogo Prefecture, featuring vegetable planting and pizza-making workshops.

Yabu City in Hyogo Prefecture is blessed with abundant natural beauty, including Mt. Hyonosen—the highest peak in the prefecture—and Tendaki Falls, selected as one of Japan’s Top 100 Waterfalls. At wataya farm, they cultivate approximately 100 varieties of vegetables and wheat using pure water and mineral-rich soil. While this event, mainly features springtime activities like planting vegetable seedlings and sowing seeds, you can also enjoy some harvesting. Additionally, you can top pizza dough made from wheat harvested at wataya farm with your choice of ingredients and even experience baking it in an oven. Savor your hand-made pizza under the blue sky at your leisure.

・Date / Time：Sunday May 24  /  9:00~11:00

The event will be held in light rain. In case of heavy rain or stormy weather, you will have an agricultural experience in a different way. 

・Place：wataya farm fields, Takayanagi Community Center

・Price：1,500yen per person  

*Please make a payment upon check in. No cash, only credit card is available.  

*Free of charge for elementary school students and younger. 

・Capacity : 15 people   

This event is exclusively for the guests staying on Saturday, May 23rd.   

 

・Schedule   

9:00 Depart from hotel, Walk to the fields (about 10 min.)  
→ Planting vegetable seedlings and sowing seeds
→ Depart for Takayanagi Community Center (approx. 10 min)
→ Pizza-making workshop and tasting
→ Walk back to the hotel (about 13 min.)   
11:00 Arrive at hotel

*Times may vary depending on situations on the day of the event. 

 

・Attire and Footwear：Please join in comfortable clothes and comfortable shoes (sneakers) *Wearing a hat is also recommended. 

・What to bring：drink for hydration, Towel  *Work gloves (for adults) will be provided by hotel. Please bring gloves for your children.
