Enjoy Japanese Tea Experience at Fairfield by Marriott Kyoto Minamiyamashiro
On Saturday May 23, Fairfield by Marriott Kyoto Minamiyamashiro will host a special event for guests staying at Fairfield by Marriott Kyoto Minamiyamashiro to enjoy the season's first tea-Shincha.
Minamiyamashiro Village is the only village in Kyoto Prefecture known as the main area producing Uji-Cha. May brings a soft, pale green color to the tea fields nestled in the mountains, and the beauty of the fresh shoots glistening with moisture in the morning mist is a sight unique to this season.
This event features Japanese tea instructor Ms. Mika Hasegawa, who will lead a tasting session focusing on Shincha. We will compare three varieties: sencha from Minamishirō, kamairicha from Miyazaki Prefecture, and fukamushi-cha from Kagoshima Prefecture. Discover how the same Shincha can offer distinct flavors and aromas depending on its region of origin and processing methods.
Be sure to enjoy sweets and drinks made with Mura-cha at the adjacent Michi-no-Eki, “Ocha-no-Kyoto Minamiyamashiro Village.” Why not take this opportunity to embark on a journey to fully experience the unique tea culture of Minamiyamashiro Village?
